Can I install my shower head myself?   

Replacing your shower head is a small upgrade that can make a big difference to your everyday life. We've put together a step-by-step guide for you so that, if you're handy, you can easily do the job yourself.    

1. Turn off the taps: Before you start the replacement, make sure that all taps for the shower are closed to prevent water from running into the house. It is not necessary to shut off the water to the house if all faucet shut-off functions are working.
       
2. Remove the old shower head: When dismantling your old shower head, you may need to use a wrench or polygrip pliers if it's stuck. Ensure that the pipe is protected from damage by wrapping a cloth around it while you unscrew the shower head counterclockwise.
     
3. Clean the thread: After removing the old head, clean any dirt or scale from the thread. A damp cloth or an old toothbrush is great for this. 
     
4. Check the rubber seal: Check that the rubber seal is intact and seals properly.   
   
   
5. Install the new shower head: Follow the manufacturer's instructions to screw the new shower head in place. This can often be done by hand, but sometimes tools are required. Tighten gently until firm, but avoid overtightening to prevent damage.

For a deep clean, disassemble the shower head and place the parts in a mixture of warm water and vinegar. Use a soft brush to remove any residue. Rinse all parts and reassemble the shower head. Remember to wipe it with a dry cloth to prevent water spots.   

Regular cleaning with good detergents and wiping off calcareous water after use can extend the life of the product and ensure better water flow.
