Both new and older cars need certain additives in order to function optimally. There are various types of additives, each of which has different uses and different properties.

Additives, depending on the type of additive you buy, can facilitate cold starts, clean the fuel system, reduce engine wear and tear, and protect against frost and corrosion.

AdBlue®

AdBlue is a colourless, alkaline liquid used in diesel vehicles with SCR exhaust emissions control technology. Newer diesel cars require you to add AdBlue® to a separate tank, usually marked with a blue fuel cap, which is intended for the liquid. SCR exhaust emissions control technology, together with added AdBlue, cleans diesel engine exhaust gases and reduces emissions of harmful nitrogen oxides by reducing these to nitrogen and water vapour.

Brake fluid

It is the brake fluid that causes the car to slow down and brake when you depress the brake pedal. Brake fluid is the medium in a hydraulic brake system and which transfers the force from the brake pedal to the brakes, so that when you depress the brake pedal, the wheels are also braked. The brake fluid also acts as a lubricant and helps lubricate moving parts and prevent the appearance of rust.

It is important that you change the brake fluid every two years, or after 3,000 miles, in order for your brakes to work optimally. The brake fluid is affected by the frictional heat that occurs during braking, therefore it is important that you follow the recommendations for how often you need to change the brake fluid.

Fuel additives

The fuel additives are divided into diesel additives and petrol additives, simply depending on what fuel your car uses. Fuel additives are added to the fuel and help clean injectors and fuel systems, among other things. In our range you will also find fuel stabilisers that can be used for all types of fuel. A fuel stabiliser stabilises the fuel during storage and it lubricates, among other things, the fuel system and reduces emissions and exhaust gases.
